Technical
Diving
八丹拜
Two decompression dives at Padangbai's finest technical dive sites. Rich macro life, reef sharks, deep walls, and one of the best DPV dives in Bali.
Macro Meets
The Deep
Padangbai is one of Bali's most diverse technical diving destinations. Unlike the open-ocean drama of Candidasa, Padangbai rewards divers with extraordinary macro life on the slope, dramatic walls dropping to 45 metres, and one of the most exciting DPV dive sites in the region — Shark Point.
The bay offers two very different technical dives in a single day. The Blue Lagoon Wall (Turtle Neck) is a rich, detailed dive through coral gardens and deep wall sections. Shark Point is a wide-open exploration across coral pinnacles and plateaus, with reef sharks and big pelagics at depth — best experienced with a DPV.
Who can join: This trip is open to all certified technical divers — TEC 40, TEC 45, or equivalent from another agency. Your certification level determines your maximum depth on the day.
Where We Dive
We select two sites on the day based on conditions. These are the three primary technical sites at Padangbai.
藍色潟湖
Starting from the mooring line at 12 metres, the slope reveals an extraordinary world of rare critters — shorty dragonets, hornet ghost pipefish, frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, and nudibranchs. Following the slope leads to the Blue Lagoon Wall, descending to 30–40m where seahorses, cuttlefish, Rhinopias, and mantis shrimps are regularly spotted. The ascent brings you back through Blue Lagoon to deco on a stunning coral garden full of sea life.
Turtle Neck
Known locally as the Blue Lagoon Wall, Turtle Neck takes its name from the rock formation above water — a profile that strikingly resembles a turtle's head and back. The wall starts at around 12 metres and drops in stages to 30–40m, draped in coral and home to the same rich critter life as Blue Lagoon, with the added drama of the wall itself.
鯊魚點
Starting from Blue Lagoon, the dive heads right across the bay to Shark Point (Tanjung Sari) — a wide exploration best done by DPV. Multiple coral pinnacles lead to a soft and table coral plateau where turtles, octopuses, and stingrays are common. At Shark Point itself, white-tip and bamboo reef sharks rest on the sand. The dive descends to 45m on a coral slope patrolled by reef sharks and large schools of batfish, with big tuna passing through.
Who Can Join
This trip is open to all certified technical divers. Your certification determines your maximum depth on the day.
TEC 40 certified divers can explore the Blue Lagoon Wall and Turtle Neck in full, and access the shallower sections of Shark Point within certification limits.
TEC 45 certified divers can dive the full depth of Shark Point — the coral slope at 45m where reef sharks and big pelagics are most commonly seen.
TEC 50 and above divers can push beyond the slope at Shark Point with two deco gases, accessing the deeper reef structure below.

Important Notes
- DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) strongly recommended for Shark Point — the site is large and a DPV significantly improves the experience
- Site selection is made on the day based on conditions — we do not pre-assign sites
- Dive profiles are planned to your certification level — bring your certification card
- Sidemount is recommended — twinset also possible. Tanks are delivered to the dive site, not filled on location
- Stage cylinders included and delivered with the tanks. Regulators for stage not included with equipment rental

問題
Do I need to be a PADI TEC diver to join?
You need a valid technical diving certification — PADI TEC 40 or above, or an equivalent from SSI, IANTD, TDI, or another recognised agency. Your certification determines your maximum depth on the day.
Is a DPV required for Shark Point?
Not required, but strongly recommended. Shark Point (Tanjung Sari) is a large site and a DPV significantly improves what you can see in a single dive. DPV rental is available on request when you book.
How does Padangbai compare to Candidasa for technical diving?
They're very different experiences. Candidasa (the Gilis) is more demanding — stronger current, deeper sites, and more challenging conditions. Padangbai is slightly more forgiving but offers exceptional diversity: world-class macro on the slope, wall diving, and the excitement of Shark Point. Both are worth doing.
Can I bring my own twin set?
Yes — if you have your own twinset, bring it. If not, rental is available on request when you book. Sidemount is also welcome and recommended.
What if conditions are bad on the day?
If conditions are unsuitable for safe technical diving, we will delay, move to an alternative site, or reschedule. Your safety always comes first.
