Discover Balinese Yoga and Freediving Retreat Bali

In this special retreat, Bali Diving Academy combines Balinese yoga practice with a freediving course for beginners. Yoga means union and is based on the principle of harmony between the mind and the body. Freediving is exactly the same; a flowing meditation where the deeper you relax, the easier you will be able to stay underwater for long periods of time. During the retreat, different types of yoga will be practiced with the aim to complement your freediving experience.

Program

The program consists of four full days of activities divided into a different kind of yoga practice every morning and evening, and a session in between dedicated to AIDA level 2 Beginner freediving course.

Some of the yoga styles that are taught by yoga teacher Guru Made Sulendra are:

  • Nadi Sodhana: to cleanse your meridian
  • Bastrikha: become more energized by manipulating the chakra in your stomach
  • Yoga Surya Dwipantara: classic Balinese sun salutation
  • Yoga Candra Dwipantara: healing Balinese moon salutation
  • Cakra Sodhana: cleansing the seven chakra
  • Moola bandha: building power in our bodies
  • Happy breathing: how to find joy in every inhalation and exhalation
  • Melukat purification ceremony and closing

AIDA level 2 Beginner freediving course

The AIDA level 2 Beginner freediving course is the introduction to the fascinating world of freediving. It will introduce you to what it is all about: relaxation and knowing your body and teach you how to freedive in a safe and rewarding way. 

You will start with breathing and breath-holding exercises before you learn the basic skills and safety measures in the water. With this course, you will become a certified freediver. The whole course includes theory, pool sessions, and open ocean sessions. A small exam during the course is required in order to receive the certification.

A typical day during the retreat

    • 06:45 – 07:45 Morning energizing yoga
    • 07:45 – 8:45 Shower and breakfast
    • 09:00 – 12:00 Freediving course Activities
    • 12:00 – 14:00 Lunch and Rest
    • 14:00 – 17:00 Freediving course activities
    • 17:30 – 18:45 Hata Yoga (flexibility and stretch)
    • 19:30 Dinner
