Diving
Candidasa
Two decompression dives at Bali's most thrilling technical dive sites. Strong currents, deep walls, and encounters you won't find inside recreational limits.
Where Bali's
Depth Begins
Candidasa is the technical diver's playground of Bali. The Gilis — Tepekong, Mimpang, and Biaha — are small rocky outcrops sitting in the middle of powerful Indian Ocean currents, surrounded by dramatic walls, caverns, and deep drop-offs that reach beyond recreational limits.
This is not a leisure dive trip. Expect real current, variable conditions, and the kind of underwater terrain that rewards experienced, prepared technical divers. Our BDA TEC instructors and divemasters know these sites intimately and will plan your dives around tidal conditions for the best experience.
Who can join: This trip is open to all certified technical divers — TEC 40, TEC 45, TEC 50, or equivalent from another agency. Your certification level determines your maximum depth on the day.
Where We Dive
Site selection is made on the day based on tidal conditions, current, and your certification level. These are the primary sites we use.
Gili Tepekong
Two distinct dives in one location. The Wall — a dramatic vertical drop starting at 35–40m that gradually flattens into a gentle slope descending to very deep depths, with clean blue water and open-ocean visibility. The Canyon — tricky, unpredictable current leading to an underwater pinnacle absolutely packed with corals and marine life. Requires precise planning and strong current management.
Gili Mimpang
What looks like three separate rocks from the surface is one connected reef system underwater — a slope that transitions into a wall dive at 40–50m, covered in coral and sea life. The dive follows the reef through a coral mushroom formation, resting white-tip sharks on sandy patches, and eventually reaches a deep plateau where Mola mola come to be cleaned. Big trevally hunting, schools of sweetlips, and healthy macro life throughout.
Gili Biaha
Shaped like a crescent underwater, Biaha starts in the blue before reaching the wall at 10m. The first highlight is the famous shark cave — a large cavern filled with white-tip reef sharks, glassfish, lobsters, and fluorescent life. After the cave, the dive descends along the outer wall to 40–50m where sharks and seasonal Mola mola (June–October) patrol the deep. The ascent back up the coral walls is rich with frogfish, octopus, nudibranchs, and anemones.
Who Can Join
This trip is open to all certified technical divers. Your certification determines your maximum depth on the day.
Certified TEC 40 divers can join using their single deco cylinder configuration. Sites and profiles will be planned within your certification limits.
TEC 45 certified divers access deeper sections of the Gilis with one decompression gas. Ideal for exploring the walls at Tepekong and Mimpang.
TEC 50 and above can dive to 55m+ on air with two deco gases. Trimix certified divers can access the full depth of the sites down to 75m.

Domande
Do I need to be a PADI TEC diver to join?
You need a valid technical diving certification — PADI TEC 40 or above, or an equivalent from SSI, IANTD, TDI, or another recognised agency. Your certification determines your maximum depth on the day.
Can I bring my own twin set?
Yes — in fact we prefer it. If you have your own twinset, bring it. If not, rental is available on request when you book. We fill all back gas and deco gases on-site in Candidasa.
Is this trip suitable for someone newly TEC 40 certified?
It depends on your experience and comfort level. Candidasa — especially Gili Tepekong — is a challenging environment with real current. We assess each diver individually and always plan dives conservatively. If you have any doubts, contact us before booking and we'll advise honestly.
What if conditions are bad on the day?
Candidasa is a current-dependent site. If conditions are unsuitable for safe technical diving, we will either delay, move to an alternative site, or reschedule. Your safety always comes first and we never push dives in unsafe conditions.
Can I add a third dive?
This package includes 2 decompression dives. If you want to add a third dive, contact us when booking and we can discuss options and additional pricing.
