PADI TEC 45
Bali
The second step in open-circuit technical deep diving. Push beyond 40 metres and master decompression diving in the warm waters of Bali.
Beyond 40
Metres
The PADI TEC 45 course is the second step in the PADI Tec Deep program. Building on your TEC 40 skills, it qualifies you to plan and execute decompression dives to a maximum of 45 metres/145 feet using air or EANx as your back gas and EANx as your decompression gas.
This is where your technical diving discipline deepens. You'll refine your trim, buoyancy, gas planning, and decompression management — building the solid foundation required before stepping up to TEC 50.
Bali's clear water, warm temperatures, and world-class deep sites make it one of the best places on earth to complete this certification.
What You'll
Master
Dive Planning
Build on your TEC 40 planning skills, extending dive plans to 45 metres with accurate gas consumption calculations and decompression schedules.
Decompression Management
Execute single decompression gas dives with controlled ascent rates, mandatory stops, and accelerated decompression using EANx.
Gas Switching
Master safe gas switching procedures underwater — correct depth, MOD checks, and valve management under real dive conditions.
Emergency Management
Handle equipment failures, lost gases, and diver distress situations at depth with the calm, trained responses of a technical diver.
Technical Mindset
Solidify the discipline, situational awareness, and critical thinking required to dive safely beyond recreational limits.
Buoyancy & Trim
Refine horizontal trim and precision buoyancy at depth — the foundation of safe, efficient technical diving.
How the
Course Works
The PADI Tec 45 course combines a knowledge review, practical skill application sessions, a confined water dive, and open water dives at Bali's best technical dive sites.

Warm Water, Year-Round
Bali's average water temperature of 27–30°C in shallow water makes conditions comfortable year-round. At TEC depths — particularly at Candidasa and Padangbai — temperatures can drop to 19°C during the cold season, perfect for practising thermal management.
World-Class Deep Sites
From Tulamben's Liberty Wreck to Candidasa's deep drop-offs and Nusa Penida's walls — world-class technical dive sites are easily accessible from shore or short boat rides.
